19/12/08 - New travel visa restrictions

Thai immigration has new rules regarding border entry points. In order to stop tourists from staying in Thailand without proper visas anyone arriving in Thialand at any land entry point will now only receive a 15 day visa. If you are entering through any international airport then you will still receive a 30 day visa. If you are entering from any bordering country via roads or boats and you wish to remain longer than 15 days you must obtain a visa from your home country's Thai embassy or consulate or from a consulate in the country you are arriving from. If you are coming to us from Malaysia you may obtain a visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur or from the Royal Thai Consulate in Penang or Kota Baru. You may also obtain the visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Singapore.
